This is no doomsday "the end is nigh" podcast, but the dangers facing Christians in the 21st century are nevertheless extremely shocking and chillingly real.

How did we get to the place in society where tyranny seems to be ruling the day? What went wrong? How did we get here, and how do we restore our individual liberty before God?

In this episode, we will make the argument that it is the spirit of liberalism in the pulpit (which is alive and well even in the vast majority of "conservative" Evangelical churches) that has cultivated the atmosphere in which tyranny can prosper in society. Once we've defined the essence of liberalism, we'll see how it made the way for tyranny to thrive, and then we will show the pathway back to freedom.

There is hope, but the men whom God has called to stand behind the pulpit must be willing to fight using the spiritual weapon of divine truth. As Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10:4-6,

"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete."

This is an urgent call for the church to awaken from her slumber, to come out from hiding pietistically behind the four walls of the church building, and to labor in the public square for the glory of God and the advance of the kingdom of God while we still have the freedom to do so.

We will discuss depth of corruption that exists in the U.S. government, and how that corruption is only a manifestation of their hatred of God. We will learn some hard lessons from history and see how pietism in the pews fails both in bringing glory to God and in loving our neighbors. Then, we will see an encouraging example of just how easy it is to make a real difference today. We currently have a power in our hands that our Christian forefathers could not have even dreamed of. Let us use it!

The gospel will ultimately triumph in history, but it will only do so by the hands of faithful men like John Knox who understand that, "Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God." So, let us defy tyrants and push forward for the advance of the kingdom of God in 2020!

As we look at the trajectory of society and current happenings in politics, 2020 promises to be a very interesting year to say the least. No doubt there will be a lot of extremely important things that we will have to discuss this year. It would be easy for Christians to panic and become short-sighted. 

So, we wanted to kick off the year by having another special episode together as a family. We wanted to give you an effective long term strategy to defy tyrants. We have spoken out against the public school system many times. Government education should not be an option for Christians, and government tyranny will not continue for very long if we stop allowing them to indoctrinate our children.

However, once you decide to get your children out of the public school system, why homeschool? What does homeschooling look like? How and why do you do it daily? We discuss all of these things and more in this episode. Check it out and defy tyrants by giving the future generations an explicitly Christian education!

This is our final episode for 2019, so we decided to make it special!

Our precious kids introduced this podcast, and then my beautiful wife joined me on set as we discussed the nobility of motherhood, with our kids as the giggling live studio audience. We had lots of fun together as we discussed this vitally important topic. It made for the perfect end to the first year of 5 Solas Studios.

So, we hope that you will take the time to listen, learn, and laugh together with your family. Husbands, wives, sons, and daughters all have something to be gained from this episode. More is at stake in how we think of womanhood than we often realize. The importance of this subject simply cannot be overstated.

There are some legitimate historical and biblical reasons why Christians ought to pause and seriously consider whether or not we should celebrate Christmas. In this episode, we will take a look at both church history and Scripture. Our goal in this episode is not to stir up any meaningless quarrels or controversy, but to help make some important distinctions in order that the church may be further sanctified, and that there may be more unity among Christians, even if we enjoy different traditions and practices during this time of the year. If certain healthy distinctions are made, then we can enjoy many traditions without corrupting the pure worship of God. However, if these distinctions are not intentionally made, the traditions take an unlawful place and corrupt worship. Therefore, no Christian ought to be passive or indifferent on these issues. Above all, we should be jealous for the glory of God and desire to keep his worship pure.

By what standard is anything good or evil, right or wrong, true or false? In this episode, we will give a short "crash course" in defending the faith with a consistent biblical apologetic.

The problem is, most Christians end up being grossly inconsistent with their profession of faith when defending the Christian faith because they step out of the Christian worldview into an unbelieving atheistic worldview in their argumentation. Meanwhile, unbelieving atheists inevitably steal categories that can only be accounted for from the Christian worldview to defend their atheism. We will show you how to expose the bankrupt foundation of unbelief while standing consistently on the authority of Scripture alone. We will demonstrate why the only standard for any truth claim is Scripture alone, and that is because Scripture is the only special self-revelation from God, and "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge." (Proverbs 1:7)

The Public School System is the very seedbed for Cultural Marxism, the Social Justice Movement, the LGBT Revolution, and all that is opposed to God. Yet, many sincere and well-meaning Christians work in various places within the Public School System in hopes of either reforming it or helping the children who are there. In this episode, we hope to educate Christians as to precisely why government education is not a biblical option. We will present three sound biblical arguments for why no Christian ought to have anything to do with the Public School System.
