Welcome back to 5 things you need to know for March 13, 2020.
#1—The State of Live Music. As everyone knows, coronavirus is changing the way we live day to day. We’ve postponed the Jam Just Happened show, which was scheduled for next Friday, March 20. Reschedule date TBD, but we’ll honor any tickets you have to the current show, and offer refunds to those of you who can’t make the postponed date.
Our primary concern is fan and artist safety, and we know this is the right decision at this time. For other shows, you can see all the latest cancellations/postponements on JamBase.
Here at Osiris, we’re planning content as shows are postponed and canceled, and as many people will likely be at home. We’re talking about virtual concerts via video, more podcasts and video podcasts. Stay tuned.
#2—Let Creativity Flow. A new original series tells the story of how technology is affecting the evolution of music collaboration. Featuring interviews with members of The Disco Biscuits, along with the view from journalists, investors and music experts. Hosted and narrated by Amar Sastry, and sponsored by Splice. And Osiris listeners get a special offer from Splice by clicking here.
#3—Sean Doolittle on Beyond the Pond. Washington Nationals closer and World Series champion Sean Doolittle chat with Dave and Brian about Phish, baseball, and the causes that he’s passionate about. Part 1 is here and part 2 is here.
#4—Dan Berkowitz on Under the Scales. Dan, the founder and president of CID Presents, is interviewed by Tom and RJ. What is CID Presents? How did they pull off yet another amazing Phish gala in Mexico? Why did Phish move to a different resort? What is CID doing next? All these questions and more, answered.
#5—Inside Out wTnS on Music Industry Insurance.
The Drop is brought to you by Osiris Media, hosted, produced and edited by RJ Bee. The Drop is brought to you by CashorTrade, and Osiris Media works in partnership with JamBase. Until next time…
