Hi everyone, it’s Kanako.

Today’s shadowing is “Short form Adjectives / present tense”. We’ve practiced adjective conjugation before, but this will be the casual form of adjectives. If it’s used as a question, make sure the ending will be upper tone otherwise it’s hard to tell if it’s a question.

- Yes, I am. 　うん、忙しい。

Are you free today?  今日(きょう) ひま？

- No, I’m not.　ううん、ひまじゃない。

Is this good? これ いい？

- No, It’s not good at all.　ううん、全然(ぜんぜん) よくない。

Is this spicy?  これ 辛(から)い？

- Yes, It is.   うん、辛い。

Is this book interesting?  この本(ほん) 面白(おもしろ)い？

- No it’s not.  ううん、面白くない。

Do you like natto?  納豆(なっとう) 好(す)き？

- No, I don’t.  ううん、好きじゃない。

Do you hate rain?  雨(あめ) 嫌(きら) い？

- No, I don’t hate it.　ううん、嫌いじゃない。

Are you good at cooking?  料理(りょうり) 上手(じょうず)？

- Yes, I am.   うん、上手。

Are you good at driving?  運転(うんてん) 上手(じょうず)？

- No, I’m not.  ううん、上手じゃない。
