It was a quiet shift on New Year’s Day in Estill, SC for Officer Quincy Smith. As a young and active officer, he recently acquired some recording technology on his own to document his numerous contacts with citizens. Many times his personal recordings were able to show that a complaint was unjustified. On this day, it captured the worst day in his life as he was shot three times and severely wounded.
