542 There is a God in Heaven Who Reveals Mysteries, a Guided Christian Meditation on Daniel 2:24-28 with the Recenter With Christ app  

The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ.

Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes.You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing.  If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes.   Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:   Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate.

Scripture for Meditation

NABRE 24 So Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon, and said to him, “Do not put the wise men of Babylon to death. Bring me before the king, and I will tell him the interpretation of the dream.” Arioch quickly brought Daniel to the king and said, 25 “I have found a man among the Judean exiles who can give the interpretation to the king.” 26 The king asked Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Can you tell me the dream that I had and its meaning?” 27 In the king’s presence Daniel made this reply:

“The mystery about which the king has inquired, the wise men, enchanters, magicians, and diviners could not explain to the king. 28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what is to happen in the last days; this was your dream, the visions you saw as you lay in bed.

NIV 24 Then Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to execute the wise men of Babylon, and said to him, “Do not execute the wise men of Babylon. Take me to the king, and I will interpret his dream for him.” 25 Arioch took Daniel to the king at once and said, “I have found a man among the exiles from Judah who can tell the king what his dream means.” 26 The king asked Daniel (also called Belteshazzar), “Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?” 27 Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, 28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you were lying in bed are these:

Meditation:

After Daniel recognizes the awe of God in previous verses, he humbly goes to God seeking answers. God blesses Daniel with the answer he seeks. He then shows up to interpret the dream of the King. The King had threatened to kill all the wise men, which included Daniel and other Israelite people. Daniel then agreed with the King that none of The wise men could interpret the dream but that God could. This contrast shows the difference in power between Us and God and gives us the appropriate frame of mine to stay humble before God. 

This makes the comparison between how Daniel and King Nebuchadnezzar even more foundational and represents a crucial message of this whole experience. 

This becomes an incredibly valuable thing for us to consider. When we lack wisdom what should we do? Do we seek God for understanding? Do we seek God for understanding our role in life or our perspective on the world?

Do we trust that God can give us understanding?

Meditation of Prayer:

Pray as directed by the Spirit.

Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him.

Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm:

I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials.
