Kerry-Anne Mendoza is Editor-in-Chief of The Canary (www.thecanary.co). She is known for creating one of the UK’s top independent political blogs (Scriptonite Daily), for authoring the best-seller 'Austerity', and for her Middle East reporting (notably Operation Protective Edge from Gaza through the Summer of 2014). Her passions are politics, economics and current affairs, which she examines with the basic question: “How do we build a world that works for everyone?”

Growing up in working class Kingswood, Kerry-anne had no idea of the ground breaking work her West Indian grandfather had done for racial integration in the city. Finding out the full story at his funeral, when she was 18, she could suddenly made sense of the pull she felt to tell the stories that raise and tackle the world’s inequalities. Kerry-Anne tells her story, from a first visit to Palestine in 2002, through a career in the banking industry, before breaking out into the Occupy movement and never looking back.

Harry Parker grew up in Wiltshire. He was educated at Falmouth College of Art and University College London. He joined the British Army when he was 23 and served in Iraq in 2007 and Afghanistan in 2009 as a Captain. He is now a writer and artist and lives in London. Anatomy of a Soldier is his first novel.

It is a satirist's dream come true. John Crace looks back over a decade of poking fun at clunky plots and dodgy dialogue.

John is a staff feature writer for the 'Guardian' and author of many books. He writes the literary pastiche 'Digested Read', incisive pastiches of the most popular writers, from Bridget Jones to Julian Barnes, and is the Parliamentary sketch writer for the 'Guardian'.

He has also written several books, including 'Vertigo: One Football Fan’s Fear of Success' and 'Harry’s Games: Inside the Mind of Harry Redknapp'. A committed Spurs supporter, he lives in south-west London but travels to N17 for every home game.

His most recent book is 'I Never Promised You a Rose Garden: A Short Guide to Modern Politics, the Coalition and the General Election'.

Sandi Toksvig is a well-known broadcaster for both television and radio, and a co-founder along with Catherine Mayer, of the Women's Equality Party.

She also hosts 'The News Quiz' on BBC Radio 4 and '1001 Things You Should Know' on Channel 4. She presented 'Excess Baggage' on Radio 4 until 2012.

She has written more than twenty books including fiction and non-fiction for both adults and children, including 'Peas and Queue's', and is a regular columnist for 'Good Housekeeping' magazine.

In September 2012 her play 'Bully Boy' was the opening production for London's first new theatre in thirty years, the St James. Sandi is the new Chancellor of Portsmouth University, and it was recently announced that she would take over from Stephen Fry as the host QI on BBC2.

“Now is the time to put our heads above the parapet,” said Sandi Toskvig, who co-founded the party with Catherine Mayer in March 2015, to the 2000-strong audience. “Let’s do it for our daughters and our sons. Join me at the barricades.”

Journalist John Lanchester talks about the future of money and tells us all about bitcoin and getting to grips with the language of money.

John Lanchester has worked as a football reporter, obituary writer, book editor, restaurant critic, and deputy editor of the London Review of Books, where he is a contributing editor. He is a regular contributor to the New Yorker. He has written four novels, The Debt to Pleasure, Mr Phillips and Fragrant Harbour, and Capital, and two works of non-fiction: Family Romance, a memoir; and Whoops!: Why everyone owes everyone and no one can pay, about the global financial crisis. His books have won the Hawthornden Prize, the Whitbread First Novel Prize, E.M Forster Award, and the Premi Llibreter, been longlisted for the Booker Prize, and been translated into twenty-five languages.
