Joe Boyd on his music career.

Joe Boyd is a record and film producer. After graduating from Harvard, he worked as a production and tour manager for George Wein in Europe where he travelled with Muddy Waters, Coleman Hawkins, Stan Getz and others; and at Newport where he supervised Bob Dylan’s electric debut. In 1966, he opened UFO, London’s psychedelic ballroom. His first record production was four tracks by “Eric Clapton and the Powerhouse” for Elektra in 1966. He went on to produce Pink Floyd, Nick Drake, The Incredible String Band, Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny, Richard & Linda Thompson, Maria Muldaur, Toots and the Maytals, REM, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, 10,000 Maniacs, Billy Bragg, Cubanismo, Taj Mahal and many others. As head of music for Warner Brothers Films, he organized the scoring of Deliverance, Clockwork Orange and McCabe and Mrs Miller and made Jimi Hendrix, a feature-length documentary. He helped set up Lorne Michaels’ “Broadway Pictures” in 1979-1980, then started Hannibal Records, which he ran for 20 years.

The Lucinda Belle Orchestra features a variety of instruments from the harp to the guitar. The debut album, My Voice & 45 Strings, was recorded in various locations including Nashville – where Lucinda once studied jazz. Previously, Lucinda has recorded with the likes of the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams, Rufus Wainwright and Annie Lennox. She transcends boundaries taking the harp away from its classical expectations, fusing it with rootsy, gypsy, southern gospel and jazz influences.

Charles Hazlewood is a world famous conductor. Following his studies at Christ’s Hospital and Oxford University, he won first prize at the European Broadcasting Union Conducting Competition in Lisbon in 1995. June 2003 saw his Carnegie Hall debut conducting the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. He made his BBC Proms conducting debut in August 2006, with the BBC Concert Orchestra; simultaneously presenting the concert live from the stage for TV. He now guest-conducts many of the world's leading orchestras. For several years he also hosted Radio 2's The Charles Hazlewood Show, exploring his vast and catholic music tastes, in sessions recorded on his farm in Somerset. He played the first ever symphony concert on the famous Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. In August 2009, Charles unveiled his latest venture, a new breed of orchestral festival on his farm in Somerset called Orchestra in a Field (orchestrainafield.com). He also founded the first British Paraorchestra for disabled musicians.
