みなさんこんにちは、かなこです！今日のシャドーイングは「A is more ● than B」です。今回のPodcastは、Michaelさんの提供でお送りします。

Hi everyone, it’s Kanako. Today’s shadowing is “Comparison between two items 2”.

In the previous class, we practiced “Aのほうが　Bより●” to compare two items. However, it is interchangeable with “Bより　Aのほうが●”. For instance, if you were to say “Canada is colder than Thailand”, it could be “カナダのほうが　タイより寒いです” or “タイより　カナダのほうが寒いです”. Just make sure that “より” is always attached to the comparison items.

Russia is larger than China.　中国よりロシアのほうが大きいです。

Okinawa is hotter than Hokkaido.　北海道より沖縄のほうが暑いです。

Korean food is spicier than Japanese food.　日本料理より韓国料理のほうが辛いです。

The bullet train is faster than the subway.　地下鉄より新幹線のほうが速いです。

Airplanes are more expensive than ships. 船より飛行機のほうが高いです。

I prefer sushi to ramen. ラーメンよりすしのほうが好きです。

My father is taller than my mother. 母より父のほうが背が高いです。

Japanese is more difficult than Spanish.　スペイン語より日本語のほうが難しいです。
