みなさんこんにちは、かなこです！今日のシャドーイングは「AとBと　どちらのほうが好きですか？」。

Hi everyone, it’s Kanako. Today’s shadowing is “Which one do you like better?”.

When you make a comparison statement, usually you need to use “のほうが” and “より”. However, if somebody asks you questions using comparison items, you can use “のほうが” to answer the question. For instance, if somebody asks you “ニューヨークとハワイと　どちらのほうが好きですか？”, you can answer like this “ハワイのほうが好きです”.

Which do you like better, ramen or takoyaki?  ラーメンとタコ焼きと　どちらのほうが好きですか。

－I like ramen better.  ラーメンのほうが好きです。

Do you prefer Italian or Mexican food?  イタリア料理とメキシコ料理と　どちらのほうが好きですか。

－ I prefer Italian food.　イタリア料理のほうが好きです。

Which do you like better, summer or winter?  夏と冬と　どちらのほうが好きですか。

－I like summer better.  夏のほうが好きです。

Do you prefer the ocean or the mountains?  海と山と　どちらのほうが好きですか。

－ I prefer the ocean.　海のほうが好きです。

Which do you like better, fish or meat?  魚と肉と　どちらのほうが好きですか。

－I like fish better.　魚のほうが好きです。

Do you prefer wine or beer?  ワインとビールと　どちらのほうが好きですか。

－ I prefer wine.　ワインのほうが好きです。
