A Perth basketball player returned home this week after playing in Italy and France, he responsibly put himself in self isolation at a hotel in the city but as the room door closed he realised he was lacking all the essentials. 

Simon Lokan found a Perth Facebook group put together to help people out during the Coronavirus crisis and asked for advice... instead he received a lot of help from complete strangers. 

"Three lovely ladies, Megan, Shannon, Fiona, offering to bring food to door and I'm thinking 'wow I wasn't expecting this'

"It was all very overwhelming, I'm so grateful," Mr Lokan told 6PR Breakfast.

AFL boss Gil McLachlan says if a player tests positive to COVID-19 the competition will be suspended for 30 days. 

6PR sports reporter Kim Hagdorn says a number of players have been tested for Coronavirus, but the AFL want to keep it quiet. 

And to make up for players waiting for results "there will be a mini draft next week."

On Thursday, Haggers says AFL clubs are facing inevitable job losses and and players are facing a pay cut.

The AFL season was given the go ahead, but it will be a reduced season with shorter quarters, the new look game could give some injured players a chance to come back early.

Fremantle defender Alex Pearce remains on the Dockers injury list with an ankle injury from last year, but he told 6PR Breakfast the shorter quarters could work in his favour.

"With the new rules in place, that the game's going to be a bit shortened, I'm putting my hand up a little bit early saying if there's a bit less game time I might be able to get back out a bit earlier," Pearce told Steve and Baz.
