In this episode we look at the conclusion of Uriel de Costa’s life. After writing his books against Judaism and religion, De Costa eventually attempted to rejoin the Jewish Community. The community demanded that he agree to being publicly lashed. Why was such a severe punishment done by the community? What effect did this have on De Costa? How did De Costa view his life efforts?
