Valentine’s Day post separation and divorce can be a heavy day emotionally.
First, let’s remember that it’s just another day until you say it’s otherwise. This year, Wednesday makes it feel a little easier because it’s not a big weekend thing.
What are your expectations, or what were they when you were married or in a relationship?
Honestly it is mostly, if not entirely, women who have a problem with this day. Huge expectations if in a relationship and feeling lonely and unloved if you aren’t. Noticing all the others receiving flowers and you’re not for example.
Do you notice the other women who are in relationships and don’t? Do you notice the women who receive flowers but don’t seem happy about it? Do you know anything about what is going on in their relationship because of those flowers or that dinner out?
Just because someone is doing all the right things for their partner that day doesn’t mean anything.
Let’s make this the year we stop. And if you are not able to entirely ignore the day which is hard I get it, then let’s at least plan to have a fabulous day/evening.
So here are some ideas which by the way can be incorporated any day of the year that you are feeling a bit left out or unloved or lonely like on a birthday, or anniversary or any day.
Plan to do something nice for yourself and be your own lover.
If you say you are lonely then you are. If you make plans to love yourself that day instead then that’s who you are.
Some ideas for a single's Valentine's Day:
There you have it. Please let me know what you chose to do and share a picture on Instagram or in the Facebook group and tag me. Maybe next year the list of ideas for things you can do will be twice as long.
I love you big time.
