Hi everyone, it’s Kanako. Today’s shadowing is “intend to do”.

This is used when you talk about plans to do in the future. Use the short form of a verb

For instance, if you want to say “I intend to go to Japan next year.”. It will be like this, “来年日本に行くつもりです”.

I intend to do laundry this weekend.  週末、洗濯するつもりです。

I intend to go shopping tomorrow.  明日、買い物に行くつもりです。

I am not going to cook dinner today.  今日は晩ごはんを作らないつもりです。

I am going to buy a pizza.  ピザを買うつもりです。

I plan to go to Malaysia next year.  来年、マレーシアに行くつもりです。

I plan to study Japanese starting next month.  来月から、日本語を勉強するつもりです。

I plan not to work overtime today.  今日は残業しないつもりです。

I am not going to drink alcohol this week.  今週はお酒を飲まないつもりです。

I plan to read one book this month.  今月は本を１冊読むつもりです。
