8/26: U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan is warning Americans to stay away from Kabul airport. COVID Hospitalizations in Oregon hit a record high yesterday.
The U.S. Embassy had asked Americans to stay away from the airport because of the threat of violence. The Secretary of State estimates about 1,500 Americans are still in Afghanistan. This morning, the U.S. says more than 95,000 people have been airlifted out of the country in the past two weeks. Communities in Pacific Northwest are among the latest coronavirus hotspots. Newly-released body camera footage reveals a brutal encounter between Louisiana police and a black driver. Republican lawmakers in Texas are expected to advance a controversial bill that Democrats say would limit people's ability to vote.
