In this episode of Conversations with Stardust, I am joined by Stuart Taylor, better known online as Chain Bear. Last year, I got into watching Formula 1, but found myself swamped in complexity. Like most problems, I was sure I could find the solution online. Sure enough, I found myself watching hours worth of fantastic Chain Bear videos, which brought me up to speed (pun intended) on the fantastically complex world of Formula 1.
In this episode, Stuart and I talk about the journey he took to get to the creative pocket he finds himself in, and he gives us a relaxed take on various talking points surrounding F1.
I hope you enjoy our conversation
Two months ago, the Dear Nature Podcast writing competition was born. The competition was open to all High School students in Otago and Southland. To enter, students wrote a 1500 word, narrative story about an important scientific discovery. After over 25,000 words worth of stories, a winner has been decided.
Thank you to The Otago Museum, Bird Shirts NZ, The University Bookshop, Gore PaperPlus, The Royal Albatross Centre, Monarch Wildlife Cruises, and the Dunedin City of Literature, for sponsoring this competition and providing fantastic prizes for the talented students who entered.
In this episode of Conversations with Stardust, I am joined by a hero of mine: Stephen Fabes. In the setting summer of 2020, I journeyed through Stephen's book Signs of Life. Within the shady blue covers of the book, Stephen gorgeously details his six (and a bit) year long cycling adventure, which covers 86,209 kilometres, and six continents. The Earth wasn't the only world crossed however, as Stephen encountered the diverse realms of health and disease upon his travels.
In this episode, Stephen and I talk about the world outside the covers of his book; what life was like upon his return, how his travel changed him, and the double bladed beast of uncertainty.
I hope you enjoy our conversation

On this episode of Dear Nature, we lift our ears to the forest breeze, but notice there is a severe lack of tree chatter... so how do the trees talk, and what are they talking about?
