On today's episode, we're talking to foster parent and money coach Nicole to talk about just how queer foster care is. 30% of foster children are LGBTQIA+, and we need to talk about it! In this episode, we talk about how foster care is another option to consider when raising children as opposed to adoption or IVF. Being queer is expensive AF for many reasons, so we're here to talk about more possibilities. I learned so much in this conversation and I know you will, too.
Nicole Valenzuela is a finance manager, personal finance coach and Founder and CEO of Fostering Finances. She is a Queer Latina Foster Parent who aims to eliminate barriers to financial freedom amongst marginalized communities. Nicole works one-on-one with the village of foster parents, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC women to provide financial literacy, heal generational money trauma and achieve financial independence.
