Goooood Morning!
Well it looks like we have ourselves a New York Comic Con recap episode. Joe and Jordan sit down to chat about the annual convention that has become a cultural touchstone in New York City. While somewhat obscure now, it was at one point, one of the few comic book conventions in the city. So Shifters, hit that play button and take a journey down memory lane with Joe and Jordan.

Gooooood morning!
What is the greatest coming-of-age mafia movie of all time? The answer is simple: A Bronx Tale. Largely because it’s the only coming-of-age mafia film with one of the most unique twists for a movie in its category. September 29, 2018 marked the 25th anniversary of this cult classic and we, well, primarily Jordan, were more than excited to chat about it.
So what’s so special about A Bronx Tale? It has memorable quotes, a unique love story and a riveting performance by Chazz Palminteri. So listen up because this is our hot take on Robert De Niro’s directorial debut.

Goooood morning!
Jumping right into we're discussing the hit Netflix series Ozark. It's been compared to Breaking Bad, which is arguably the greatest TV series ever, but is it really as good? That said, we jumped into a conversation about it with freelance writer Alex Bracetti. You may have seen his work on AskMen.com, which includes a portfolio of hits such as "Best Tequilas To Drink" and "A Man's Guide To Drinking Rosé". He's also one of the co-hosts behind The DPad Experience, a video game and pop culture podcast. On top of dissecting Ozark, we also show respect to the HBO series Oz, which is arguably the reason we even have Ozark in the first place.

Gooooood morning!
As mentioned in the description of the previous episode, this is the companion recording that we are releasing since we took a brief hiatus in August. This was recorded a week after the premiere of Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman, which itself was released around the 1 year anniversary of the Charlottesville rally. We offer up our hot takes; what we enjoyed, what we could have done without and the takeaways we got from the film. We also revisit a recording that we did after the weekend of the Charlottesville rally in 2017 and we reflect on what has taken place in the last year or so.
Also, this episode is the last one of the season. Yes, 8AM Shift has been around for a whole season! Join us for the next one, which we will discuss in the next episode.

Gooooood morning!
First off we want to apologize to all of the Shifters for our wonky schedule. To make up for being away for the last two weeks, we're dropping two episodes back-to-back. Yes, in addition to this episode, we have another one you can digest as soon as you're done with this one. So if you have a long commute or are stuck in traffic, now is a good time to sit back and chill as we give you our hot takes on two of the hottest movies of the summer.
In this episode we discuss...
Once your done with this episode, stick around for our episode on BlackKklansman!

Gooood morning!
**Update: Joe and Jordan will be rolling episodes out mid-week moving forward! This means Wednesdays or Thursdays**
What starts as a lengthy discussion about the recent Venom trailer slowly evolves into a set of hot takes about the Boots Riley film, Sorry To Bother You. While initially billed as a film about code switching, it's really a dark satirical look at what capitalism can do to those that are desperate for social mobility. For this episode we got to hear from a few of our ultra-cool friends.
After we launch into a brief discussion of MoviePass, which we both agree is a great idea that may not be able to last. Which begs the question, if MoviePass folds, who will take their place?

Goooood morning!
Hey Shifters, we have a special three-person episode this time around. We invited Brooklyn-native and pop culture connoisseur DJ Treats to share his thoughts on the trailers that dropped during San Diego Comic Con last week.
What starts off as a conversation about the Shazam trailer, turns into an interesting debate about...

Gooooood morning!
Have you ever re-watched a movie and TV show years later and said to yourself, "Man, this couldn't get made now." Well Shifters, it's the issue that Joe and Jordan have been dealing with when it comes to their media consumption. During their conversation, Jordan shares his thoughts on the hit Adult Swim series Rick and Morty, and what he hopes doesn't happen to it in the future.
After the break we have a very special conversation with comedienne, actress and YouTube personality Karen Sepulveda, who shares with us her thoughts on terms like "content creator" and "woke", dealing with online hate and of course, Rick and Morty. She also opens up about what it means to be a mixed-race Dominican-American and the role her Latinx identity played growing up in the Bronx, NY.

In this episode we celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Dark Knight, a major touchstone film among older millennials and Gen X'ers everywhere. We discuss everything from the technical achievements of the film to the philosophical ones. It's a deep conversation that lends itself to discussions about today's political climate.
Special thanks to...
