To my comrades in the restaurant industry, how are you doing now? I hope you're all okay and hanging in there.
As of today, we have no dine-in, and we only have takeout and delivery.
But I'm aware that a lot of states have shut down the entire restaurant businesses and sadly, that maybe you (I'm sorry about that). Some folks even chose to close because there's an immense drop in their sales.
A lot are saying, "We're going to come back stronger!"
But how can you do that?
I wanted to tell you that just because your restaurant is closed, does not mean that you and I are not working.
Your job now is to be working and preparing for that comeback. Here are some things I suggest you do:
1. Review your employee handbook (job postings, hiring/training process, etc.)
2. Go through your employee folders
3. Work in your marketing system
4. Stay connected with your customers online
5. Improve your restaurant (do some repainting, remodeling, etc.)
If you want to come back stronger, you need to be putting in the work aggressively today because you don't know how much time you have until everything normalizes again.
But what I do know is that it's going to take an enormous amount of time and effort to resume operations!
So if you want to recover and still exist after this corona fiasco, you must protect what you put in a tremendous amount of blood and sweat into -even if your restaurants closed. You need to work incredibly hard and diligently NOW more than ever!
