9,000 Votes an Hour

Listen Later

Perhaps nowhere in the country symbolizes voter enthusiasm more than Harris County, Texas.

100,000+ voters in one day for four straight days.  Up to 9,000 votes an hour on average.  Records there are falling left and right.  And the blistering pace shows no sign of letting up.  In this episode of Y’all-itics, the Jasons are joined by Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins.  He talks about what might be behind this surge of voters, why lines are moving faster than expected, what happens if there are symptoms at a site.  Lessons learned there can even help at your polling location.  And if you haven’t cast your ballot yet, listen to this episode while heading to vote!
