Anne Sanow won the 2009 Drue Heinz Prize and has been nominated for four Pushcart Prizes. Her stories have appeared in Kenyon Review, Shenandoah, Crab Orchard Review and Malahat Review.

Derek Green’s first book, New World Order, was selected to launch the Autumn House Press fiction series. He has been the recipient of many awards, including the University of Michigan’s prestigious Avery and Jule Hopwood Award in Creative Writing.

The Winners of the 2010 Writers Cafe Contest are student writers from the University of Pittsburgh, reading their winning pieces of poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction, led by writer Ellen McGrath Smith.

Anahita Firouz is the author of In the Walled Garden (Little Brown). She has taught in the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of English and is a founding member of the Pittsburgh Middle East Institute.

John Hoerr is the author of Monongahela Dusk (Autumn House, 2009). He has also written three nonfiction books from his experience as a labor reporter

Maggie Leffler is the author of two books, The Goodbye Cousins (Bantam, 2009) and The Diagnosis of Love (Delta, 2007).
