9/29: Top military leaders say they warned Pres BIden about the dangers of leaving Afghanistan. One month after Hurricane Ida many are still suffering.

On Capitol Hill, military leaders told the Senate committee yesterday they did advise the president to keep some troops in the country. That contradicts President Biden's version of events. The officials also painted a dark picture of the future of Afghanistan. President Biden's agenda faces new hurdles on Capitol Hill, where progressive Democrats may not back down in a spending standoff. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is warning of dire consequences, if congress does not raise the nation's debt limit. At least eight states have bans of some kind of covid vaccine mandates. That includes Montana -- where medical providers are now suing, as hospitals are overrun. The man who murdered five people at a Maryland newspaper has been sentenced to more than five life terms without a chance of parole. Hurricane Ida devastated Louisiana one month ago, and many people there are still suffering.
