Maria, in addition to her clinical practice, is dedicated to studying and promoting John Paul II's Theology of the Body, translating several books into Portuguese and addressing the consequences of the globalization of the cultural revolution on family and society. As the President of CERTA-Centre for Studies and Resources Theology of Love, she leads Theology of the Body weekends through FORUM WAHOU! Maria is a founding member of the Catholic Psychologists Association and SALL – Defense of Freedom Association. She coordinates Rachel's Vineyard in Portugal, oversees pastoral care for those with unwanted SSA, and organized the IV International Theology of the Body Symposium in Portugal in 2013. Despite facing media persecution, Maria remains active in various projects, contributing to the translation and coordination of John Paul II's audiences on Human Love and pursuing continuous education in philosophy and Theology of the Body. She is also a member of Communion and Liberation Fraternity.
