Zoë's back with your theatre recommendations for this week, plus with a special guest, Freya Finch from Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead to talk about how they are turning Hamlet inside out with their slapstick comedy. Zoë reckons you've gotta make time for Ritu Alkemi and the Short & Sweet Festival this weekend, as well.
Anna, played by Natalie Medlock, is about to dive into a world of blind dates with all sorts of characters. The Blind Date Project takes Anna on a journey of exciting first dates, featuring all sorts of surprises and even some karaoke. Natalie pops up for a chat with Rachel about playing a serial dater and who she's particularly excited for. This is not to be missed, get your tickets here to live through a dating rollercoaster with Natalie.
Zoë packs in special guests to the studio, Zak and Marwin to chat about their shows Sicko, and Pinay. Catch both these shows at the Basement and if that's not enough, head to Six Degrees of Separation, at the ASB Waterfront Theatre. Plenty to see.
From boxfresh re-evaluations of dramatic representation to Shakespeare 'as-it-was', Zoë's brought in tips that run the gamut.
Lucky for us, Zoë brings up a special guest, Trygve Wakenshaw, who is Mr. Red Light himself. A hilarious play about a man who attracts bad luck, you know, every red light. This will be definitely worth going to if you're keen for a laugh. Zoë also reckons you've gotta check out Murder on the Nile by Agatha Christie at the Pumphouse, and Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Pop Up Globe.
Zoë's back from a wholesome holiday and ready to jump into some theatre this weekend. She reckons you need to get along to Read My Lips, Like a River, both at Basement Theatre and Ngā Puke at The Herald. Check 'em out.
Johanna returns from a hiatus for a special theatre guide featuring multiple realms of arts and culture in Tāmaki. Power at The Basement Theatre is her top pick for this weekend, as well as Orchids at Q Theatre. Plus, an exhibition at the Gus Fisher Gallery, Call Me Fashion. Check them out.
Special theatre expert, Julia Croft, chats to Rachel about what's good in theatre this weekend. And apparently it's a lot. Julia reckons you gotta get along to Inheritance at the Basement, Sinarella at Q Theatre, and must-see The Wolves, also at Q Theatre. A special mention goes out to Orchids, coming up in the future - it's not one to miss.
We've got a special guest, George Fenwick, bFM alumni, taking over the theatre guide today. Coming in with his top picks, The Wolves, Little Black Bitch and Upu Mai Whetu: Mea Fou. Lovely to have you back, George.
Zoë brings in some recommendations for good theatre, and a special guest, Kate Rylatt, to talk about Fleshies at the Basement, described as a call to action to end body insecurities and body shaming (much needed!). As well as Fleshies, Zoë reckons you should get along to A Fine Balance, and Wolves, both at Q Theatre, both great social commentaries. Nice.
