The FCC voted to designate 988 as the new suicide prevention hotline number. This came as a welcomed change for mental health, as the current National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number (1-800-273-8255) is hard to remember and can be easily misdialed. The 988 hotline will be easier to remember and will help to connect those in need with the resources they need more quickly.
