Mets caught up with Matthew Davis aka Mavis, Nathan Hallett-Young and Natty Coles from the GasGirls.
After their 2019/20 season was declared null and void the girls find themselves back where they started 12 months ago. This was especially upsetting as they had a 100% record in the league and were only one win away from clinching the title.
Nathan explains how he wants the game to be played and this is born out in the attacking football the girls have been playing. This is typified in a resounding 6-0 win against Bristol and West in the WFA cup on Sunday.
Resolutely a tracksuit manager, we also get an insight into his music tastes which are truly horrific.
Mavis talks about the support the GasGirls have got, not just from the Community Trust, but from the wider Gas community. He also talks about the ethos of the club with no room for homophobia, racism or sexism at its core.
Natty talks about what its like captaining the GasGirls and handling the expectation that comes with the badge. She's not afraid to dish out a 'boot up the bum' on the pitch if someone isn't carrying their weight either. A woman after Mets own heart!
