All sin is bad and to be avoided. It will hurt you and left unchecked it will ultimately destroy you. So you don’t want to make excuses for it. What’s to done about sin? The law of God was never given to make us righteous but to reveal we all fall short of the glory of God and need a Savior. But many totally miss the point and go on an endeavor to live by the law. Others come up with their own set of standards, rules and rituals to live by. Both of those paths lead to bondage. Back when Paul penned his letter to the Colossians there were false teachers that claimed salvation came through abiding by manmade regulations. Simply put it was legalism.
