  • hoping for a better year, train VS Vehicle and or person issues on Metro

On this edition of the podcast, 3 sustain minor injuries in DTLA train-vehicle crash is the article in which I highlight and leave my comments.

While I'm happy that there were three with minor injuries, I want to have drivers pay attention to oncoming trains as well as your every day walking people as well.

I talk about this in my podcast which I thought about for quite awhile.

Thanks so much for listening, and make it a great day!

  • A day in the Life of Jared: the monthly calendar and a comment from a listener

Welcome to a Day in the Life of Jared. I'm Jared.

On this podcast, we play some commentary from our very own Preston Gaylor, who recently got interviewed for this podcast and was recently released in Mid December.

Also, on this podcast, we will go through the Metro Calendar for January. While there are other events that may be added afterword and some may change, this is what we know to date.

While I don't go in to much detail about most events, you may go to the calendar through eventbright to learn more. Each item has a graphic you can click on to learn more about the event and learn where it is going to take place.

I will be back with our events when agendas come out with them, and we'll see what the new year brings.

We thank you for listening for the short time this podcast has been out and we welcome all new listeners. Thanks for having an interest in what we are doing here.

Contact me through the web site if you have any questions. We also give out contact info from within the program as well.

  • Ben Rockwell of Longbeach, the face of the accessibility advisory committee

We recently learned that Ben Rockwell, from Long Beach recently passed away. The AAC's Cynde Soto passed along a letter from the pastor of the church they both attended.

If you want a braille copy of the letter, please contact me through the Metro fan site and I'll make sure you get a copy.

At some point, we can determine where to put people like Ben who have had an impact on the disability community like he has for so many years. The letter talks about a little of his work.

Please enjoy this 11 minute podcast, and yes, the track was changed to fit the mood.

We'll have more podcasts very soon here, thanks so much for listening!

  • Some great news in regards to Mirna Soza

If you have not read Man sentenced for fatally stabbing woman on Metro train in Studio City in the news, that is what this podcast is going to talk about.

We were there at PSAC when they m,entioned this and now we've got an update on this.

    This is great news, folks.

We always read bad news, and I remember when this happened and we sent it to the L.A. Metro Communications list. But sometimes we don'g hear the end.

This podcast shares the article linked within, and when PSAC took a meeting to adjourn in her memory.

Thanks so much for listening, make it a great day!

  • A Day in the Life with Jared: An Informal Interview with Preston Gaylor

Preston Gaylor made an apperance during an AAC meeting, then starting work for me shortly after with organizational tasks.

Sometimes, the simple jobs can be the most boring, even I went through that phase but need that help.

While we're off for the holiday break, and there are no scheduled meetings, please feel free to join me in an informal interview right here on the podcast. I'll also air it across the JRN on a future program there.

Thanks for having an interest in this podcast, we'll have more soon!

Visit the Metro fan site to learn more about what it is about if you're new to this podcast.

  • A Day in the Life: The AAC meeting report and thoughts

As we conclude another year, we reflect on this podcast's short time here and invite users to contribute their thoughts as well.

I'm not going anywhere, and I know that we'll see how things go.

If you want comments aired, I give you info on how to do this from within the podcast, and I discuss where we are in our numbering scheme although we do not put episode numbers within this podcast.

We discuss what happened during the AAC meeting with the understanding that things will be more clear when the minutes are concluded and made available for us to deal with in February.

  • A day in the life of Jared: The board report in audio form

I would normally write this up, but I'm still irritated at the events that took place that an audio version is better.

http://boardagendas.metro.net and look for the December 4th meeting.

    Its under previous meetings.

Hope you enjoy this 50 minute wander through the meeting of things that caught my attention.
