A “Fairy Tale” Edition of RRR # 1,234 March 10, 2024

Alfred Pace Randolph

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who this fellow is? He’s A. P. (Alfred Pace) Randolph, composer of “How Could Red Riding Hood.” It’s one of my favorite songs regardless of who performs it, but we’ll be hearing a version on tonight’s show not heard on the show before. And one of the reasons we’re playing “How Could Red Riding Hood” is that we’re celebrating–albeit a little belatedly–National Fairy Tale Day which was actually last month on February 26. We’ll also have a set of rapidly rotating records about some elderly men and we’ll engage in some bullying. Musically, not physically. And because I apparently didn’t talk a lot, or we had short records, we have time for a Bonus Segment with one record having to do with Daylight Saving Time. There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be taken back to an earlier–and we think better-musical era. Just click on the player above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!
ENJOY THE SHOW!
