  • The Philosophy of Non-Duality in Healing the Mind and Body with Dr. Anoop Kumar
Today's special guest, Anoop Kumar, MD, encourages audiences to rethink the relationship between mind and body in a way that informs solutions to real-world challenges including healing diseases and upgrading the quality of our education. He communicates his vision through the lens of the Three Minds–a framework inspired by the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta. The application of this framework in healthcare is Health Revolution, a movement demonstrating that healing is possible when we see ourselves fully.
He has written books, written articles, given keynote talks, consulted with organizations, and collaborated with luminaries like Deepak Chopra.
Dr. Kumar has been exploring and experimenting with mind-body perspectives since he was a child. To quote Anoop, "As a child, I was surrounded by the teachings of Advaita Vedanta (the philosophy of non-duality). I began to see that life could be lived from two perspectives—as a character in a story, and as something beyond all stories. My journey and work has been to clarify and integrate these perspectives. Looking at the world anew can reveal unseen aspects of who we are. The result? We experience ourselves and our world more clearly, fully, and intimately."
Anoop Kumar, MD, MM is board certified in Emergency Medicine and holds a Master’s degree in Management with a focus in Health Leadership from McGill University. He practices in the Washington, DC metro area, where he also leads meditation gatherings for clinicians. He is the author of the book Michelangelo's Medicine: How Redefining the Human Body Will Transform Health and Healthcare. Anoop enjoys exploring and communicating about the intersection of self-awareness, science, and wellbeing. Visit him at anoopkumar.com and follow along @DrAnoopKuma

  • The Key to Nonjudgment is Mindfulness? with Dr. Greg Hammer
We make quick judgments every day about everything we see and put these things into categories, such as healthy/ unhealthy, affordable/ expensive, and good/ bad.  And how much more often do we make judgments about ourselves??
To quote today's special guest, Greg Hammer, MD: "Mindfulness, or living in the present moment, gives us the space to practice nonjudgment"
Judgment prevents us from seeing what is really in front of us!  We risk missing out on making new friends, having great conversations, and learning something new. Nonjudgment is observation without bias.  It’s understanding that reality is not necessarily good or bad— it just is.
Greg Hammer, MD is a Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, pediatric intensive care physician, pediatric anesthesiologist, mindfulness expert, and the author of GAIN without Pain: The Happiness Handbook for Health Care Professionals.
A member of the Stanford WellMD initiative, Dr. Hammer is currently the Chair of the Physician Wellness Task Force for the California Society of Anesthesiologists. He has been a visiting professor and lecturer on wellness at institutions worldwide and teaches GAIN to medical students, residents, and fellows at Stanford. He has published widely on topics related to pharmacology and perioperative care of children undergoing cardiac and thoracic procedures as well as organ transplantation. Dr. Hammer is a health enthusiast and meditator, utilizing a non-duality and mindfulness-based approach.

  • Heal Core Wounds Through Astrology, Empathy & Self-Forgiveness with Lisa Tahir

When you are wounded, innate animalistic instincts for self-protection kick in as a means for survival. These behavior patterns are a natural and necessary coping strategy, at first. But many dwell far too long in these patterns and separate themselves from their source of inner wisdom and intuition. Using astrology as a diagnostic tool, today's special guest, Lisa Tahir, LCSW reveals how to use the astrological placement of the minor planet Chiron in your birth chart to identify the core wounds and unconscious patterns that block your capacity to have self-empathy and to forgive.
Coining the phrase “Chiron effect” to describe the magnetic pull that individuals have around specific areas of vulnerability, she explains how, like a raw nerve, the placement of Chiron describes what parts of our lives we might edit or hide for fear of being rejected as well as the areas of sensitivity where we are triggered.
