The account of the flood is meant to remind us that God judges evil. But one day it will stop and the flood is proof that God keeps his promises. With this fresh start for Noah and his family comes change; a new diet, fear upon all the animals, respect for life, judgment for shedding the blood of one’s fellow man and a new promise, signified by the rainbow, to never again destroy the earth by flood. As the promise of the rainbow is commandeered and redefined, Pastor Lloyd reminds us that as the culture declines, God’s word remains true.
