A father who is a blessing to his children is one who cultivates a genuine love for God. He pays close attention to the places he goes and the company he keeps. He cherishes the Word of God and hides it in his heart. He will be like a tree planted by streams of water and it will produce deep roots and good fruit.

Jesus left His followers two ordinances. Ceremonial practices that are unique to our faith. Both baptism and communion were given as a means for publicly professing our faith in the Gospel. In each case, the sign is a visible display pointing to a reality different from and more significant than itself. Through communion, Christ invites us to look back, to look in, and to look forward. As we do, we remember the saving work of Christ on the cross, our daily need for Him, and long for His return.
