Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
Prayer : Lord teach and guide me on how to react when I face different challenges in life.
Every human being has twenty four hours in a day and is unable to add or subtract from it.
A moment refers to an instant (short while). It basically relates to time.
You can do things quicker and more efficiently which will result in you having more time (from the same 24hrs) to do other things.
If you end up wasting part of your 24hrs or doing things too slow, then chances are you will end up with less time (of the same 24hrs) to spend on other things. This means efficiency is compromised or impacted.
What separates or defines us are “moments” within the allocated (equal) time in life.
The following is true about moments:
Moments change or influences outcomes in life.
Moments reveal characters and personalities of people.
moments lead to appreciation or regret.
All mankind has been given the grace to prepare for moments of life.
Lack of preparation should never be confused with misfortune or undesired outcome.
[8] Then he waited seven days, according to the time set by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
[9] So Saul said, "Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me." And he offered the burnt offering.
[10] Now it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering, that Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.
[11] And Samuel said, "What have you done?" Saul said, "When I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered together at Michmash,
[12] then I said, 'The Philistines will now come down on me at Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the LORD.' Therefore I felt compelled, and offered a burnt offering."
[13] And Samuel said to Saul, "You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which He commanded you. For now the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.
[14] But now your kingdom shall not continue. The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you."
[15] Then Samuel arose and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people present with him, about six hundred men.
From the story we have read, Samuel tried to make all excuses possible (even though they seemed valid), however God did not change His mind to take away the kingdom from him.
Understand that you might not be so lucky or fortunate to get a second chance in life.
The grace of the Lord is sufficient however it should never be taken for granted.
