Hello! Welcome to Episode 2 of Facing it, we’re so pleased you're here!
On today’s episode, we had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Lisa Sweeney. Lisa is an immensely passionate mental health advocate who uses her lived experiences to inform amazing work in the mental health space:
Lisa has been involved in influencing many facets of the mental health industry: she has worked for the Victorian government covering health strategy and national health reform;
Lisa was the recipient of the SANE community award in 2015 for her work in research into psychosis, preventative measures and recovery tools;
Lisa is currently the Director of Australians for Mental Health which is a movement of people suffering mental ill-health, their families and friends demanding a new national mental health culture; and
Lisa is also currently the Head of Policy and Advocacy at SANE Australia.Lisa was also part of the Australian Mental Health Leaders Fellowship which is where we had the pleasure of crossing paths with her and experiencing first hand her passion for mental health advocacy, not to mention her never fading cheerful nature.
