It’s flashback to the beatdown time, as we see what happened when Gary and his dad friend went to put the pervy music teacher in a coma. Gina & Rome try to have a fun day and make the best out of her current job search, which lands her in a gator-themed restaurant (think Margaritaville-meets-adule Chuck E. Cheese). Eddie gets a new physical therapist who is dealing with similar physical issues, Katherine has a playdate with Rome’s famous actress friend, and Maggie is once again being a clown, this time at the new radio job. JUST TAKE THE KID’S CALL OFF-AIR, MAGGIE! C’MON!

Ladies and gentlemen, we are BACK. And Delilah is on her way out! She’s heading back to France and taking our beloved Danny, Rome & Gina say goodbye to Someday (for now) and begin their foster journey with Tyrell. Eddie is going through it in a funny/relatable/awful way and trying to track down the woman who hit him and then basically prank called him about it. Maggie’s gonna get a radio show after a hot-mic moment creates an opening, and Gary? Well, he beat a pervert into a coma (which we love, don’t we folks), and now he’s dealing with the aftermath.

Oh boy, it’s getting dark in here! We spent the whole episode guessing which character was gonna a) die b) kill someone else, and there were a lot of realistic possibilities! Delilah comes back and makes everyone mad, Tyrell finds out how his mom got taken by ICE, Sophie goes to the police, Eddie and Katherine make an even bigger mess of their custody battle, Gina sells the restaurant, and Theo spills (of course). And Gary? Oh boy, Gary gives us a cliffhanger. That’s a wrap on season 3, baby! We’ll see y’all in the Fall.

Yes, everyone is talking about the finale (episode coming in 2 days) but BEFORE the finale, it was “No One Is To Blame,” where Gary gets hit with a bombshell: Darcy wants to move to be closer to her child’s father — and Eddie living with Gary is complicating everything. Sophie decides to go to the police about her abuser, and is part of maybe the best scene in the entire series when Rome tells her about the day her father passed. Next episode is the big one!

In these two episodes (United Front & Not Alone) we find Gina dealing with the frightening after effects of a concussion suffered at the hands of the police. In even scarier news: her mom is back! But after being massively annoying, she comes through for Gina in the end. Sophie returns from France and finds that another girl likely suffered a similar assault, and she takes the brave step of reaching out to her family. Katherine and Eddie begin divorce proceedings, and things get ugly when it turns to custody of Theo. And — as always — Gary is the greatest friend of all time.

It’s another double episode: “Junior” and “Listen.” Katherine begins the transition to divorcing Eddie, and seeing Alan. Gary’s dad comes to town, and we find out why he’s Gary and not “Javier.” The murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor lead to protests, in a really well-written and well-acted episode dealing with the protests of 2020. This is a big episode! So big, it’s actually two: 3.10 “Trust Me,” and 3.11 “Redefine.” We discover the abuse Sophie suffered at the hands of her music teacher, and the gang comes together to try to help her through it. Incredible performance by Lizzy Greene with incredibly tough subject matter. Also: Tyrell’s mom gets deported, Rome & Gina have a big decision to make, Rome’s dad gets a girlfriend, and Katherine might have a new boyfriend on the side, as Eddie tries to work his way back through rehab.

Eddie has another rough one! He agrees to go to rehab, and gets mad at Gary for supporting Katherine who is just about over the whole Eddie experience. She also whiskey drinks during the day, and makes a move on our new tattooed friend. Rome and his dad butt heads over their faith, and British Jamie (maybe?) says goodbye.

Rome busts Eddie on stealing pills, and is joined by Gary on an intervention — after Eddie goes nuts on a racist’s car, which was very satisfying. Katherine tries to help Theo deal with idiotic racist children in his class, and she finds herself moving closer to her new lawyer friend. There’s some more Maggie podcast fallout, and we beg the authorities to deport Jamie and give us Tyrell’s mom back. See ya on WEDNESDAY nights going forward, friends!

Eddie is going full POS (Dave’s words) as the lies start to build up and his addiction begins to spiral, Gary goes full germaphobe, which helps him find common ground with Darcy’s son Liam, Rome & Gina find a way to keep the restaurant open while helping kids in need, and Jamie snoops through Gary’s stuff, finds an engagement ring, and shows it to Maggie like a COMPLETE POS (#DeportJamie), and Maggie somehow accidentally publishes a long revealing talk on her podcast.
