Director Wong Kar-Wai is known for many wonderful films including AFI's top 100 film Chungking Express, Happy Together, In the Mood for Love and so on. I recently came across a quote of his that highlights his filmmaking ideology that I couldn't resist sharing. It puts to words something I've felt but wasn't able to express. His words underscore an important aspect, not just in filmmaking, but with art in general so I know it can help you. That's what I explore in this episode. This is my review of Spiral: From the Book of Saw. In the first part, I do non-spoilers and then in the second part, I open it up to spoilers (with a warning beforehand). Spiral is a horror film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger. It is the ninth installment in the Saw film series. The film stars Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols, and Samuel L. Jackson, and follows police efforts to stop a Jigsaw copycat killer. The original creators of the series, James Wan and Leigh Whannell, serve as executive producers alongside Rock. Listen and afterward, please share some thoughts or questions.

Ever watch a movie or read a book and think to yourself, "Wow, this narrative thread was introduced and it never paid off." Well, as a writer of any kind, I'd think you'd like to avoid that as much as possible. That's what this episode explores. In it I give you a technique that works for me to avoid plot holes and stray plot points. As an indie filmmaker, YouTuber or content creator in general, it can be difficult to film in low light situations. But there's ways to capture a good image using 6 techniques. 1) Add more light. 2) Utilize the darkness. 3) Open the aperture. 4) Reduce the frame rate. 5) Reduce the shutter speed/make the shutter angle wider. 6) Increase the ISO. Another week, another vlog. In this episode I discuss some new methods and ways of thinking that's allowed me to have breakthroughs with my writing. Then I bring up the notion that one one ever knows what we aren't doing, they only see what we are doing and how this should allow us more grace with ourselves. Thanks for tuning in. Many of us, without knowing it, are not choosing a future we want. We simply react to one we don't want. That makes us passengers of life. Let's stop. Instead, decide on what future you want and work towards it. That's what I go over in this episode.
