  • Episode 89 - ATM has a pint with Seaniebee
One of Britain’s most innovative and original street artists joins the pod today to share his life journey.
ATM’s beautiful murals are designed to highlight the plight of the country’s birds and wildlife as they silently succumb to aggressive farming methods and urbanization in the name of progress. The current situation, if allowed to continue, is likely to lead to mass extinctions within a very short time period. We also discuss the urgent need for reform in how art is taught in universities.

  • Episode 88 - Carrie Reichardt has a pint with Seaniebee
Carrie Reichardt is a multi-media artist and one of the UK’s leading, most authentic and anarchic art activists. She talks openly about her battles with mental illness and her challenging, shocking and destigmatizing related artworks; her work to bring creativity and dignity to Romanian orphans; and the astonishing story of her befriending inmates on death row in Texas, which led to her attending an execution in Huntsville and a subsequent fight against the inhumanity of capital punishment. Carrie believes that creativity is what gives us our humanity and our sanity; in art as a form of therapy to deal with emotions and life-changes; the importance of empathy; and in using provocative, boundary-pushing, irreverent and often politically incorrect expressions to engender meaningful reaction, response and change.
In 2017 she was appointed the first ever visual artist for Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust; and has also spent the last 21 years mosaicing the outside of her three story home in Chiswick.

  • Episode 87 - John Lynch has a pint with Seaniebee
Award-winning, English filmmaker John Lynch shares his passion, creativity, beliefs and life story. His recent music video, “Crackle Pop” for Human Pyramids, is an extraordinary, beautiful, VR exploration of synesthesia (a perceptual phenomenon of the senses where people see images when they hear sound).
He is also videographer-in-residence for (and unofficial fifth member of) the math rock band, Axes.
We discuss the current state of the world, from taxation to tribalism; the rise of identity politics and The Intellectual Dark Web, spearheaded by the likes of Jordan Petersen and Sam Harris.
In collaboration with screenwriter Jon Williams-Nobbs, his award-winning, dystopian short-film “Eddie” is a stunning exploration of futility, isolation, capitalism and existentialism. This chat is a must-listen for any aspiring filmmakers, as he gives advice on the importance of fearlessly jumping into things and getting them done early in life. We also discuss some of our favourite movies (where you’ll learn why “Ghostbusters” (sic) may just be one of the greatest movies of all time!)

With less than two weeks left to the important referendum to remove the 8th amendment in Ireland, pro-choice activist, The Don (aka #RepealONeill) joins the pod to unpeel the onion surrounding the substantive issue of abortion. This candid, considered and forthright discussion is a must listen for anybody still undecided on the matter…especially those somewhat uninformed and apathetic men out there just like Seaniebee!

  • Episode 84 - Richard Schilling has a pint with Seaniebee
Richard Schilling was born to a medical family in Hackney. Something of a late developer, he only made medical school by the skin of his teeth and shares the struggle and dedicated rise to his current position as one of the UK’s preeminent cardiologists. At a time when public health systems all over the world are creaking under pressure, we discuss how the root cause revolves around egregious strategies that seek to mix capitalism with healthcare. We also debate euthanasia; AI; the importance of purpose; always learning from the mistakes we make; and how we rarely consider life happiness in terms of years, which tend to slip by as we chase it down moment to moment. Seaniebee also shares his own near death cardio experience and how it appears to have been caused by something really simple and easily remedied.

  • Episode 83 - Dave Buchanan has a pint with Seaniebee
In a week that finally saw the demise of Martin Sorrell, we are joined by veteran, UK adman Dave Buchanan to bemoan the general decline of the ad business over the past 20 years. Born and bred in working class Manchester, we chart his life journey framed by a love of Manchester United that saw him attend almost every game (home and away) over two decades. We also discuss the racism endemic in football during the 1970s and 1980s and how the sport has changed down the years; the potentially debilitating consequences of the relentless march of unchecked technology; and how many creative University courses’ preference for conformity tends to crush the creativity, free spirit and hunger in their students.

Adman, podcaster, radio presenter, author, storyteller and all-round witty raconteur, Denis Goodbody joins the pod to discuss the issues of the day. Born in Dublin into a Quaker family, he shares the history and tenets of his faith within a wider discussion on religion. We also ponder whither capitalism through the micro-lens of Ireland’s current problems; why we perhaps should look to Scandinavia for pragmatic solutions to rising inequality; and how the world would be a much better place if we all live by one simple word: Kindness.

  • Episode 81 - Louise Bleach has a pint with Seaniebee
Although still in her twenties, Louise Bleach has already lived an amazingly full life, busying herself in sustainability projects designed to make the world a better place. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she moved to Edinburgh to do a Masters in Social Anthropology, which included a fascinating, on-the-ground thesis on spiritual exorcisms in nomadic Moroccan desert tribes. Disillusioned with the rat race in London, she decided to totally change her life by plopping her finger on an atlas with the intent of moving to whichever country it landed on! That country turned out to be Malawi, and her brave adventures continued there with a three-year stint studying permaculture and cultivating fair trade mangoes. Initially a huge success, this social project was utterly destroyed by the greed of gas/mining investors who took over the plant and squeezed all the joy out of the operation to maximize profits. This situation is a perfect micro-study of how Capitalism itself is not enough to see the world straight and how its immorality and inherent lack of compassion drives inequality, foments fear and crushes communities trying desperately to find their feet. We also discuss the nature of existence, free will, other world dimensions, AI ethics and whether or not there are ghosts, spirits, and/or Gods. And she also shares her views on climate change and how we now urgently need to reduce our addiction to plastic before it’s too late. Louise currently works for clean-tech company Desolenator, which desalinates water cost effectively using solar power and is beta testing the technology in Dubai, Cyprus and Lake Turkana in Northern Kenya.

  • Episode 80 - Nick Reynolds has a pint with Seaniebee
Where to start with this guy: the son of Bruce Richard Reynolds, mastermind of The Great Train Robbery; a member of one of the coolest bands in the world, Alabama 3 (famous for “Woke Up This Morning” - The Sopranos theme song); an artist and sculptor who specializes in death masks; and a former Royal Navy engineer who served during The Falklands War. Nick Reynolds’ life reads like a movie…from his early years on the run with his dad in South America, to teaching himself harmonica as he traveled the world, and making death masks for notable celebrities like Malcolm McLaren. We pepper his tale with some of the amazing music from his band and also posit an intriguing theory as to why there have been so many paedophile priests in Ireland.
