- Episode 77 - Chris Zane has a pint with SeaniebeeOne of the world’s foremost music producers joins the pod today to share his life journey and wisdom. Born in New York and a classically trained musician and drummer, he has lent his multifarious talents to a host of album projects from a range of highly influential bands such as Passion Pit, Friendly Fires, Harlem Shakes, St Lucia and The Walkmen. Disillusioned with the collapse of the music industry in the US, he relocated to London in 2016 and set up The Dairy recording studio in Brixton. He has lived most of his adult life in New York, but was born, as he puts it, “a Scorpio at midnight” in the disputed Kashmir Valley. No less a luminary than Susan Shapiro has called his poetry “breathtakingly beautiful, piercingly honest, wildly exotic yet universal too, as if you put Derek Walcott, Salman Rushdie and Jhumpa Lahiri in a blender”. We discuss the rich history of his homeland and how it is yet another example of the carnage left in the aftermath of the collapsing British Empire, and the role of madness and mental illness in literature.Links:Twitter: @brownpunditBuy Rafiq’s book here: https://tinyurl.com/y93oyvsnChristopher Smart’s, Jubilate Agno: https://tinyurl.com/y7s6psh8Watch The Battle of Algiers here: https://tinyurl.com/ybqaxlw3The Destruction of The European Jews by Raul Hilberg: https://tinyurl.com/h4xgxm2A Pint With SeaniebeeAudible Feast’s list of Best Podcast Series of 2017: https://tinyurl.com/ya5yj9vsTop 12 Best New Podcast Series of 2016: http://tinyurl.com/gps9tn550 Best Podcast Episodes list 2017: https://tinyurl.com/y7ryajat50 Best Podcast Episodes list 2016: http://tinyurl.com/hp83rnwRelease date: February 10th 2018Runtime: 31mRecorded: Dalkey32 min

The first of his family to gain a proper education, he was soon a published poet and took to a Bohemian, hedonistic lifestyle traveling Europe. - Episode 72 - Jon Wealleans has a pint with SeaniebeeNovelist, Will Self has described Jon Wealleans as a “fine and honest artist (who) paints the way he does because he knows how intrinsic to his own creative process is the concept of ordered chaos: a seemingly random agglomeration of objects, that yet contain within their interrelation, the lineaments of the mind that assembled them”. Born in Yorkshire, and raised in Bournemouth, he forged a notable architectural career in the 1960s, before eventually taking the plunge to pursue his love of art. In this fascinating chat, he discusses the motivations behind his highly original, bright, primary, pop-like style and a life-long love of horror movies, which has inspired his new graphic novel – Frankenstein’s Dog.Links:Website: https://www.jonwealleans.co.uk/Purchase Jon’s art here: https://tinyurl.com/ya8hmuskJon’s new graphic novel, Frankenstein’s Dog available here: https://tinyurl.com/ybqkd4xtNorm Macdonald’s new Netflix Special, Hitler’s Dog: https://tinyurl.com/ybkmy9goA Pint With SeaniebeeAudible Feast’s Best Podcasts of 2017 list - https://tinyurl.com/ya5yj9vsTop 12 Best New Podcast Series of 2016 - http://tinyurl.com/gps9tn550 Best Podcast Episodes list 2017 - https://tinyurl.com/y7ryajat50 Best Podcast Episodes list 2016 - http://tinyurl.com/hp83rnwRelease date: December 30th 2017Runtime: 51mRecorded: London51 min

- Episode 70 - Julia Ross has a pint with SeaniebeeBorn the youngest of eight children into a separated working class north of England family, Julia Ross used her talent, street-smarts, hard work ethic and dedication to pull herself up by the bootstraps and make an extraordinary go of her life. Early successes as one of the only senior women in the notoriously chauvinistic UK building industry of the 1970s, paved a path that eventually led to her launching Julia Ross Recruitment in Australia, where, over a dozen years, she took it from a standing start to stock market floatation. Now retired from the recruitment scene, she continues to be a champion of women and women’s issues, especially as they apply to the workplace. We discuss how inherent ‘preconditioning’ continues to contribute to the state of the “glass ceiling”; the urgent need for a new, world-encompassing ‘ism’; and she also shares her advice and tips on how today’s women can succeed better in both business and life.A Pint With SeaniebeeTop 12 Best New Podcast Series of 2016: http://tinyurl.com/gps9tn5Top 50 Best Podcast Episodes of 2016: http://tinyurl.com/hp83rnwRelease date: December 10th 2017Runtime: 67mRecorded: The Chilterns1 hr 8 min
About A Pint With Seaniebee
From the publisher's feed
A Pint With Seaniebee is an informal chat with creative folks who have lived, or are living brave, interesting and unconventional lives. We examine how their background and upbringing forged the path…
they went down; what decisions they took that made all the difference; what ideas they have to change the world in which we live; what life-wisdom they have garnered; and looking back, perhaps what they might change or what advice they might offer up to those following in their footsteps.
