  • Episode 172 - IN MEMORY OF MY FATHER (RIP)
March 20th 2021 saw the sad passing of Seaniebee's dad, the legendary Irish ventriloquist George Boyle.
    May he rest in peace.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Seoirse & Gerald have a pint with Seaniebee
Seaniebee’s father has been one of Ireland’s pre-eminent ventriloquists for the past six decades. On the occasion of his 82nd birthday, Seoirse (George Boyle) joins the pod with his sidekick Gerald to share their adventure stories down the years. We discuss what it was like growing up in Dublin during the War and how his love for ventriloquism bloomed, as he made his fist dummies from papier-mâché and daub. Seoirse and Gerald represented Ireland and reached the final on The Original Gong Show with Ted Mack, and were the opening act when Ireland’s TV station RTE launched in 1961. George dovetailed his ventriloquism with a successful career in engineering and shares his wisdom on the current state of the world and ideas on how we might get back on course.
Oh, and we mostly discuss how amazing it must feel to have fathered Seaniebee!

  • Episode 169 - "Ashamed to be Irish" and The Don's Top 20 Countdown: 2 George Boyle
What with the sentencing of the Irishmen responsible for the deaths of 39 Vietnamese immigrants; the appalling travesty of the Mother & Baby homes report; and the country's bumbling, greed-centric approach to COVID19 and vaccinations...the Don and Seaniebee ask whether there's ever been a worse time to be ashamed of being from Ireland.
They also give Donald Trump a fond fare-thee-well and The Don reaches number 2 in her 'Best of' countdown.

GEORGE BOYLE HAS A PINT WITH SEANIEBEE
To celebrate the somewhat surprising milestone of the fiftieth episode, Seaniebee is joined on the pod today by his architect sister, George, who shares the story behind the launch of The Fumbally Exchange (a not-for-profit movement of creative and innovative professionals who share co-working spaces). Like many others in the country, George and her husband lost their jobs during the Irish economic meltdown. What follows is an inspiring tale about a bunch of folks pulling themselves up by the bootstraps, overcoming red tape, government apathy and general crap and adversity to create a shining beacon of what can be achieved when we collectively put our minds to it.
