This video was created for you to be able to identify your own attachment style, understand how it is that you developed this style, as a coping strategy in childhood, and what your healing relationship and experience will be as an adult. There are 5 main types of attachment styles: Secure, Anxious-Preoccupied, Dismissive-Avoidant, Fearful-Avoidant, and Disorganized Attachment. In this video I describe the Anxious-Preoccupied and Avoidant relationship dynamic that can become an extremely addictive relationship pattern. I also explain how intermittent reinforcement ties into this addictive pattern and relationship pairing. I also explain disorganized attachment and how to heal all three of these attachment styles. For the sake of simplifying this information I do not distinguish the difference between Dismissive and Fearful-Avoidant attachment styles, because in both cases the partner is avoidant. Attachment styles are a learned behavior and can be unlearned. It is about having the healing relationships that will give you the opposite experience of what it was that caused your trauma in the first place. That will be different depending upon your attachment style.
