We have heard, “Jesus, loves me.” But WHY are we loved? Are we lovable? YES! We are lovable because God is LOVE, and LOVE made us. And LOVE can’t make anyone that isn’t lovable. Our lovable-ness to God isn’t about behavior. Our lovableness has everything to do with who God is and who He made us to be. God loved us before we were born. God loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us and take away our sins. If we were loved before we did anything good or bad, then there is nothing we can do to lose that love! We didn’t do anything to earn it in the first place! We aren’t loved because we DO. We are loved because we ARE! We aren’t loved because we love God. We were already loved by God. We love because He first loved us!

When we were saved by faith in Jesus Christ, we experienced a new birth with a new nature and a new status, a new position in Jesus. Even though we have done nothing to earn it, we are accepted in the Beloved. We are loved by our heavenly Father with the same love that the Father has for His dearly beloved Son. New Covenant spiritual warfare is the victory we have in resting in Jesus and His provision and supply. It’s resting in the promises of God for healing and deliverance. It’s resting from all anxious thoughts knowing that the work is finished, knowing that God will make a way, and knowing and believing in the love that God has for us. The battlefield is the mind, and the battle is to remain at rest. We aren’t fighting toward victory. We are resting in victory. Jesus gave us authority to overcome all the power of the enemy, but that’s not what we rejoice in. But under the New Covenant for those who are in Christ, there is no generational curse because there is no curse at all. Living from the inside out can only happen when we know WHO we are and WHOSE we are. As a new creation in Christ, we have been set free from the condemnation of the law and the identity of “sinner.” Our identity has been separated from the flesh so that there is now no condemnation for us, and we can never be separated from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
