We head to the wide open spaces (cue The Chicks) of Wyoming! Lauren is up first with stories and legends surrounding Devils Tower, the first United States national monument, established in 1906. Long before it became a national monument, the massive structure was (and still is) a sacred place for many Native American Plains tribes. The legends that surround the enormous landform have been rumored to give the area a very spooky vibe. Next, Kenzie shares an old story that has turned into a Wyoming legend. There is no question that Walter Earl Durand led police on a wild goose chase through the mountains, and that he is responsible for the 5 murders that took place during the whole escapade. The legend comes from questions about who this man really was and what his motivations were for the daring escape. You won’t want to miss this episode because these stories are truly *legendary*.

Please be advised that this episode discusses sensitive, but important topics around social justice. First, Kenzie tells us about the haunted experiences of people who work or have worked at the Hawaiian Plantation Village. The only time people are allowed to work at night is during their Haunted Plantation attraction around Halloween time. Even then, they are required to work in pairs because of all the ghostly interactions that have occurred at this place. Then, Lauren shares a story that is all too familiar in American history. The case of Thalia Massie, a wealthy white woman, and the five Hawaiian men she accused of assaulting her, is one that will have your heart racing in rage at the injustice carried out in this story. Hawaii may look like paradise, but these two stories will make you think twice…

This week, we are in the great state of Texas! First up, Lauren shares the spooky tales from the potentially demonic Goatman’s Bridge. Its horrific origin story(s) makes it a hotbed for evil spirits and lost souls. We suggest listening to this portion at a lower volume because Kenzie will be squealing, screaming, and shouting while Lauren tells her story. Next, Kenzie talks about the complicated case of 24 year old Scott Dunn. Investigators are not sure they will get a conviction without a body, but that won’t stop them from trying! We are 100% sure you are going to enjoy this episode!

This week, we are in the Windy City! Well…at least the state that the Windy City is located in. First, Kenzie shares a heartbreaking story about the death of baby Heather Lee Sims. Baby Heather is taken from her home in the middle of the night and killed by a stranger…or was it? Next, Lauren lifts our spirits a bit with a bizarre story about the Mad Gasser that terrorizes the town of Mattoon, Illinois. More than two dozen separate cases of gassings were reported to police over the span of two weeks! Buckle up! It’s going to be a bumpy one.

Another *new* New Mexico episode for you this week! First up, Lauren talks about the sad story of Raffi Kodikian and David Coughlin. These two best friends head out on a cross-country road trip, but only one makes it to the other side. Be warned..this story is *very* sad. Next, Kenzie covers a story about an epidemic that impacts a Navajo community in the Four Corners area of New Mexico. Thanks to the help of tribal traditions, medical investigators were able to quickly diagnose and treat the disease. Be warned…*both* of these stories are *very* sad.

We’re in New York City (state) baby!! This week, Kenzie covers a case that relied on forensic science to help catch the killer! It all starts because a homeowner tried to get rid of a 55-gallon, steel drum only to discover its horrific contents. Then, Lauren covers some local urban legends in the Hudson Valley. She’ll talk about the infamous Headless Horseman, Sleepy Hollow, and other haunts that make this valley *legend*ary. We hope you get as excited as we do at the discoveries we make during this episode!

This week we are in Washington state and talking about all things urban legends. Lauren covers a series of urban legends starting with the legends of the Maltby Cemetery, then the story of the Lady of the Lake, and finishing off with a tale about a Mysterious Stone that brings good luck to those who interact with it. Next, Kenzie talks about the strange case of the Oakville Blobs. One August day in 1994, bizarre gelatinous goo began falling from the sky and making the people of Oakville sick for weeks at a time. We don’t have any official answers to these stories, but that won’t stop us from coming up with fantastical theories!

We are in our home state of Virginia this week with two spooky stories for you! First, Kenzie shares the haunted tales that lurk in the Great Dismal Swamp. This desolate bog has centuries of Native legends and ghost stories that are still believed to this day! Then, Lauren talks about the mysterious abilities of Edgar Cayce. He became the talk of the town when he realized his ability to diagnose people’s ailments and suggest remedies despite zero medical training. Are these two local legends true? Take a listen and decide for yourself!

This week we have a special episode to kick off celebrating Lauren’s birthday! Lauren chose the theme for this episode and decided on stories with a plot twist! Aside from all the fun facts about Lauren and March 2nd, we have two stories complete with eye-popping, mind blowing plot twists. The birthday girl is up first with a story about a woman named Angela Diaz and her husband Ian Diaz. Angela is tormented by a deranged stalker through emails, craigslist ads, and random men showing up to her house. As police close in on a possible suspect, they realize that everything is not as it seems. Next up, Kenzie talks about the story of Lt. Charles Joseph "Joe" Gliniewicz of the Fox Lake Police Department. This tragic story has an even more tragic plot twist that you truly won’t see coming. Get ready for a truly SHOCKING episode (figuratively speaking). Happy Birthday Lauren!

We travel southwest this week and land in Arizona! Kenzie talks about a case that is sure to make your jaw drop at least three..maybe four times. The Morris’ family secrets are all exposed when mom, Ruby Morris, disappears without a trace, and investigators have to think outside the box in order to solve this crime. Then, Lauren tells us about the life of Winnie Ruth Judd. Her murder investigation and trial were marked by sensationalized newspaper coverage and suspicious circumstances suggesting that at least one other person might have been involved in the crimes. You won’t want to miss this jaw-dropping episode!
