Mikael Aldo or Aldo for short is a photographer but his approach and concepts are beyond photography. He has shot numerous people from musicians, actresses, models, and many more. We met through our mutual friend Kezia Alaia who was also a guest speaker on A Slice of Vai. It was really fascinating to know how Aldo works, he really opens his perspective to find inspirations, he trained his eyes, and manage to learn and worked independently while still attending classes for his degree in communication. Please do check his work on his Instagram account or website http://www.mikaelaldo.com/ to really know what I'm talking about, this paragraph doesn't do enough justice to describe him and his work.
Danzel is a full-time dancer, he won dance competitions/battles not only in Indonesia but also in Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, and many others at the age of 18 years old. Not to mentioned he also teaches and choreographs if he’s not traveling overseas (Or even during). He will be sharing his journey, his struggles as a dancer, how he overcome depression, how he motivates himself, and his next goals in life. Not to mentioned his advices for new generation of dancers who wants to dance full time. This conversation was truly eye opening, there are many life lessons that I learned from Danzel and it amazes me that you don't actually have to be a dancer to really understand this episode, try to open your mind and try to learn as many things outside your comfort zone.
In this episode me and Haekal will be talking about his experience working in Melbourne as a young adult, his struggles, knowing himself better, and a lot of great tips that he learned about marketing, networking, and applying for a job. I was really surprised about his stories and advices for youth about job applications and interviews, he went an extra mile to be recruited, by doing something as simple as making a marketing report and a background research on the interviewer. Being open and creative really helps under this situations, and that really do justice for Haekal as he is the youngest and the only Asian working in his company.
Politics is not something that I am very interested to talk about, but since Indonesia will be having their presidential campaign next year including our people's representatives, I feel that I'm not the only one who doesn't have a clue on these matter. So I invite Neil, she is the founder of Generasi Melek Politik - an NGO that focuses on educating youths about politics. I found out that politics doesn't have to be so serious, negative, corruption, and debates, it can be discussed casually and rather simply. We talked about how can we participate and be more active or woke about current issues in politics, our rights, digital literacy, and advices for youths who wants to join politics. This is an eye opening episode, I highly recommend you to hear this one! And merry Christmas!
