Rapidly Rotating Records

A “St. Patrick’s Day” Edition of RRR # 1,287 March 16, 2025

Listen Later

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who these fellows are? Regular listeners to the show will probably recognize them as The Shannon Quartet and they’ll be heard in the third segment of the show in a couple of uncharacteristic recordings. In other segments we’ll celebrate the birthdays of Bernie Cummins and Harold Stern. And since St. Patrick’s Day is tomorrow, we’ll start off the show with a trio of songs by Irish tenor George O’Brien. And for the first time on the show, we’ll have a “tussis” segment. Listen to find out what that means. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.

THANKS FOR LISTENING! ENJOY THE SHOW!
