Does combining skills + character = success?  Inside OCEAN programs, it’s a definite yes!

This week I’m visiting with Hailey Hite from OCEAN, a training community for entrepreneurs where they focus on practical business skills needed and combine them with timeless wisdom so participants can start and lead a sustainable business without the pressure of figuring out on their own.

Fun Fact: The Collective was born through the OCEAN Genesis small business training program. 

And now, seeing how far we’ve come, so quickly, I wonder how many other women out there with a small business (or even a bud of an idea) could uncover something they never dreamed possible.

Today we’re bringing back one of my all-time favorite people and guests, Kirstie Fleur.

Kirstie and I became friends just before she moved to Nashville, but the distance hasn’t kept us apart or kept us from being huge advocates for each other. 

Watching this woman and the incredible mission she’s on is nothing short of awe-inspiring! 

But recently she’s decided to face heartbreaking trauma from her past. Trauma that’s left deep wakes in her life from a very young, innocent age. 

I feel privileged to know this woman and to have her as a major influence in my life. If we are like the 5 people closest to us… I want this woman in my 5 hands down.

Today, I have two extra special and likely, unexpected guests.  So many of us have heard of the many businesses that came about during the quarantine… well, these 2 young ladies have blown me away with their business savvy!

Let me introduce Kate and Mae, 2 sisters who’ve created a line of jewelry inspired by verses. And Behind the jewelry, they inspire girls to shine their light with various programs like their Kate and Mae ambassadors.

It's just me this week with a short episode talking about what we (or at least what I) expect of summer and how drastically different it looks by the end of the sunny season.

This episode came to me on our family vacation.  We and our very close friends have rented 2 RVs and driven from La to TX, down to the Mexico boarder,  NM, and are now headed back. It's been a whirlwind adventure and by this point (with a day and a half left) I'm just about spent. We all are!

It's been hilarious, tense, incredibly beautiful, and crazy fun. However, and to be perfectly honest, I struggle figuring what day it is (forget even asking me the date) and I have no idea which time zone we're in. 

And, as I type and post this episode (because I finally have 2 bars of service,) we are bumping down one of the few no so great Texas roads (at least, I think we're back in Tx now...) and I'm listening to the constant walkie talkie radioing between Smith (my husband) and A-A-ron (My friends husband.)

One last funny insight... I love this description of our 2 families.
There are 10 of us.
2 RVs.
4 Adults.
6 Kids. (5 boys + 1 baby girl)
And half of the kids are on the spectrum and the others like pushing all buttons and boundries.
We are one Motley Crew! We are interesting. Funny as all get out. And, the national park rangers may not be our biggest fans.

Tammy and her family are using their own experiences to create something that will profoundly impact the lives of so many young adults seeking direction for their next phase of life. 

The Gap at Sawmill Meadow is a 9 month gap experience for new adults offering Christian discipleship and mentorship while living together in a renovated lodge in southern Colorado. 

Designed for those new adults who grew up knowing Jesus and currently feel trapped by expectations of what “should” come next, our vision is to cultivate wholeness for the mind, soul, body and heart that leads to transformed, confident, and abundant life in order to be a thriving adult in the world.

I love the switch that flipped for Tammy and her husband when they decided to move from “success” to “significance.”

I met Sarah a few months ago and when I learned how she turned her mother’s devastating terminal cancer diagnosis into a way to see joy in life, I knew I had to learn more about her non-profit, Our Terminal. 

She’s helping others experience peace within the sorrow, joy within the pain, and hope within the heartache. 

Of course, end of life discussions aren’t on the top of anyone’s list of conversation topics, but I have no doubt you’ll enjoy this story of how she created a way to use her experience to comfort others.
