Has anyone ever told you, “do as I say, not as I do”? How often did you earnestly listen to them and take their advice? It’s hard to truly listen to someone when you the words that pour out of their mouth don’t line up with their actions. Pastor Bill reminds us today that when we live our lives hypocritically, our words hold no weight; they mean nothing. Don’t be one of those people. Mull over your words. Think about your actions. You want to live in such a way, as to be an example for anyone you know.

Often times, Christians get put into this box where others think they aren’t free to make their own decisions. They think we have this long list of things we can’t do, and this tiny list of things that are acceptable. What Pastor Bill reminds us of today however, is that we’re just as free as everyone else. More free, in fact, because we’re free from the need to sin. If your heart has been transformed, your desires are what change. There are things you’ll stay away from because you know it’s simply not good for you.

Have you ever been a part of a team where nobody got along? Every time something is achieved, it doesn’t happen without raising issue with others on the team. Pastor Bill reminds us today how dangerous it can be to play with a team that doesn’t have your back. For Christians, the church should be your crew. As part of that crew, you’re responsible for encouraging others, lifting them up and giving support, just like they should be doing for you.

Jesus Christ came from heaven to earth to save us from our sins. However, He also came to be an example of the kind of life He desires us to live. A life full of love, loyalty to the Word, and service. In today’s message, Pastor Bill reminds us that as followers of Jesus Christ, we should consider service a privilege. We’re never above serving others. We serve because Jesus first served us and loved us and showed us what it meant to be humble and devoted to God. What service is God calling you to?

The Apostle Paul was always careful that his behavior would not negatively effect those in his ministry. If he thought his behavior could be a stumbling block for others, then he would act differently. Even when you understand that you’re free to do certain things because Christ isn’t legalistic and there’s no guilt under grace, some people are new to the faith or don’t fully understand God’s character. Today, Pastor Bill asks, “Would your behavior hinder others from hearing the Gospel from you?”

Apostles were believers who had direct revelations from Jesus Christ, Himself. Either they walked with Him while He lived on this earth, like the twelve disciples, or they had supernatural encounters, like Paul. This means that apostles had firsthand, inspired, accurate teachings from the One true source, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Today, Pastor Bill tries to understand why the Corinthian church had such a difficult time listening to and living by Paul’s teachings. What other credentials did they want?

In today’s message, Pastor Bill encourages us to love others the way Christ loves them. What does this look like? Jesus loves people enough that he left heaven and died on the cross for our sins so we could be reunited with God for eternity. He cares for all His children equally, even those who don’t know Him or haven’t acknowledged Him. He waits eagerly for them to choose him and accepts them the moment they turn and repent. He forgives all sins and further, forgets all sins. Do you love like that?

It grieves Jesus when people know the Word and know Him, but have no love for others. As it is written in the scriptures, they will know we are Christians by our love. If you know the Word of God, but don’t have love for His people and His creation, then you’ve missed His message. Jesus came to this world to die on the cross for all, because He loved us so much. Do whatever it takes to be right with the Lord. Today, you learn from Pastor Bill's message to seek to be in the right relationships with others. If you're currently in a relationship that's not right, turn back to God. Do whatever is needed to end whatever relationship that's not pleasing to the Lord. Pastor Bill understands, that it's not always easy to end these relationships, but it's necessary to be right with God. Ask the Lord to help you to do what it takes to die to yourself and live for Him and His purposes.

Don't seek to strive and stress yourself out by all that's out there today to meet people. Instead, Pastor Bill encourages you to trust in the Lord. Tell God the desires of your heart. Let Him show up for you in your life and allow Him to direct you. In the meantime seek His face. Seek to grow closer and closer in your walk with Him. And who He desires you to be.
