In this episode I explore the first of the five principles of a wealthy life: clarity.

Clarity is having an accurate understanding of what you want your future to look like, because only when you know what the end goal is, can you really put the actions in place to achieve it.

I discuss the steps you can take to get more clarity, and begin to understand what your wealthy life looks like.

I also show you through real life examples with my own clients, how no situation is no far-fetched, how no barriers need to stop you achieving your wealthy life.

So listen to the podcast and make sure you listen back to the past few episodes too, where I go into more detail about how I managed to retire at 48, and how you can too!

Ok, you probably didn't because I've completely made it up, but CCRLL is an important acronym which will take you on a journey towards that hypothetical Welsh paradise.

This week I am asking you to think about what's more important, time or money? My guess is the older you are, the more you value your time. Maybe it's because you come to be more self-aware of your own mortality (and a global pandemic hasn't helped!) or perhaps you already have the money and the stuff you need. If you're younger you maybe still aspire to have your dream job, dream car, dream home, and all the things you need more money to buy.

These of course are generalisations, so whatever stage of your life you are in, and whatever matters most to you, this episode will help you understand your prioritise your life in a way that works best for you.

Spreadsheets are a bit like marmite – you either love them or hate them. But in the episode I want to show you why spreadsheets can really help you manage your money and put your goals into perspective.

This is not about being realistic, because who wants realistic goals?! This is about grounding those goals in realism, and often a spreadsheet can paint a picture with numbers. Do you want to be a millionaire by the time you're 30? Well, a good spreadsheet will help you see how that is possible and, maybe, if you should re-evaluate those goals to avoid future disappointment.

Spreadsheets are a wonderful thing, so don't get past trauma of maths homework put you off!

According to research from the Money and Pension Service (MAPS), 48% of people worry about money. So many people find it difficult to talk about money with their partners or family, and this can often lead to long-term issues.

When we meet a stranger, most of us will break the ice by asking 'what do you do for a living'? But unconsciously, with this question, we enable ourselves to make broad judgements about each other based on nothing more than a job title.

In this first episode of A Wealthy Life, I am diving straight into how our lives are shaped so much by the need for high status and important job titles – often at the expense of our own wellbeing.

This desire for status can lead us to fear change, or even retirement!

Combined with the financial pressures of providing for yourself and your family, it's so easy to get trapped in a job because of the title, even if it makes you miserable.

I'm here to reassure you that you don't have to do this alone. It's ok to talk about money, and it's ok to ask for help, because your time and happiness is worth so much more than title or salary.
