Happy 92nd birthday to The Jefferson Theatre! What better way to celebrate a building that played a role in massive local government corruption than by having on ousted former Groves council member Cross Coburn to talk about his headline-making fight to keep his seat after his nudes were sent to the media.
P.S. Questioning your elected officials seems to be in vogue in SETX considering Beaumont's city council's recent behavior. Good times..

We had a the pleasure of having local 12NewsNow anchor and 40 Under 40 "Big Reveal" 2019 Nominee DeJonique Garrison on the show for a live episode of A2Z!
She's uber-confident, has loads of integrity, and we had a great time talking about her path to success and the state of broadcast journalism today.

Jaylon Gasper is a rare type of dude around these parts. A young progressive democrat involved in a whole lot of movin' and shakin' around SETX. This is one you should listen to if you're a bit on the right, cause there's a lot of commonality across the aisle if you just lean over and listen.

The cable network medium "is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs."
With the advent of Youtube and other internet video platforms, Cable TV is tainted and dying, but just like tyrannical leaders, they leave a power vacuum in their absence that needs to filled and Beau Tardy is a dude that sees some sweet sweet broadcast opportunity.
Get an HD antennae, tune it to 22.4, and join the revolution.

Desiree Kleypas really digs plants..
Jokes aside, she really digs plants and sharing the knowledge she's gained through the years through the Mid County Victory Garden and The Giving Field in BMT. These volunteer-operated community gardens are used to educate folks on gardening and the eventual fruits of their labor are donated to local organizations that feed the less fortunate.
Be sure to give all these places a like and a follow. We think they're very important for our society.

Jill Waldrep was suffering an emotional breakdown one day. It was definitely not her first, due to ongoing health issues, but she wasn't going to let this one keep her down. She told her worries and pain to piss off, cause she was gonna paint.
The end-result was a watercolor self-portrait which inspired a book that has empowered over 40 women across the great state of Texas.

Guess we're doing a 10-year anniversary theme with today's episodes cause for the past decade The Ramblin' Boys have been folk rockin' around SETX and beyond.
We poured up some good whiskey, talked about the band's past and future, and laughed our asses off.

Gordon Scott Williams returns to the A2Z Podcast, this time to talk about his ten years of teaching salsa at Cotton Creek Winery.

Frankie Randazzo was unemployed from Radio Shack and lost everything to a hurricane when he and a friend decided to open a bar and grill on the opposite side of Beaumont from the newly remodeled Downtown everyone was so jazzed about.
15 years later downtown is dead (among others) and Madisons On Dowlen is going strong alongside the handful of newer spots Frankie has his hand in. Next time you see him at Madison's, either Rikenjak's, Panorama Music House, or even The Library Bar DFW tell him we sent ya!
