The US president says American forces have obliterated all of Iran's military defences on Kharg island, the primary terminal for the country's oil exports.

90 per cent of the Iran's oil passes through the island.

Donald trump says he's chosen not to attack the island's oil infrastructure... But warns he'll reconsider if the regime interferes with the free and safe passage of ships through the strait of Hormuz.

Iran is blocking the strait.. and ultimately about 20 percent of the world's oil supply.

The delay is likely to further raise the cost of oil, yet U-S President Donald Trump says the price of oil will soon fall.

Countries around the world, including Australia, have begun releasing fuel from their strategic reserves.

Israeli strikes have continued in Lebanon, with thick plumes of black smoke seen rising over the capital, Beirut.

The Lebanese Health ministry says at least 12 medical personnel are among those killed in an Israeli strike on a primary health care centre in the south of the country.

It comes as the Israeli military drops leaflets on Beirut warning of Gaza like destruction unless the Hezbollah militant group is disarmed.

The Mayor of Longreach is reassuring residents that the town's water and power infrastructure are safe as the town braces for major flooding.

Local Disaster Coordinators say the latest reading shows the Thompson River has now reached 5.4 metres which is above the major flood level.

It's expected to peak at approximately 6.7 metres later today or tomorrow.

Residents in western Queensland are bracing for flooding this weekend with the Thomson river at Longreach expected to reach major flood level.

The river, which flows through outback Queensland, is expected to peak at 6.7 metres following significant rainfall in the upper catchment.

It comes as evacuations and flood recoveries continue in Bundaberg and Chinchilla with Brisbane water police deployed to assist with operations.

Residents are being told to monitor conditions and stay alert as a bushfire burns about 350 kilometres north of Perth in W-A.

Authorities say the blaze near the Port Denison townshipcould present a possible threat to lives and homes as conditions change.

Former spy chief Dennis Richardson is calling for a second interim report from the Royal Commission into antisemitism, as a matter of public safety.

Before he resigned this week, Mr Richardson was working on an interim report into intelligence and law enforcement agencies... which was to be handed down at the end of April.

He says the findings cannot wait.

And Australian snowboarder Ben Tudhope has won his second medal of the Milano Cortina Paralympic Games.

The 26-year-old has claimed bronze in the banked slalom.
