Three US soldiers and dozens of civilians have been killed in Israel and Iran as the countries continue to launch a barrage of strikes on the second day of the war.

Israel has launched a wave of fresh strikes on Iran a day after leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in his compound after ruling the country for nearly 40 years.

Iran's named its interim leadership council and its foreign minister says a new leader could be chosen in a day or two.

Meanwhile at least 10 people been killed in Israel in relatitory attacks that have hit civilian buildings mainly near Tel Aviv.

Three US service members have also been killed in strikes in the middle east, as explosions continue in Kuwait, Dubai, Qatar, Saudia Arabia and Bahrain

Global travel remains in turmoil after missile strikes across the Middle East.

In-home care childcare providers say the government must urgently extend a childcare wage subsidy or face the collapse of the niche sector.

About one thousand families nationally rely on in home care, which involves an educator coming to the home because a family can't access traditional care.The sector says childcare payrises starting today will threaten its viability unless the government agrees to fund the wage rise as its done for long day care centres.
