Political leaders have been spruiking lower prices, but it appears that's not exactly happening.

A case of the deadly H5 bird flu has been found in a migratory bird on South Australia's coast.

It's the third case of the avian influenza confirmed in Australia, after two birds were confirmed to have the disease near Esperance in WA.

Federal Agriculture Minister Julie Collins says she's in contact with state governments about managing the cases. W-A authorities say an additional bird has also tested positive there, but the result will need to be confirmed by the CSIRO.

The Federal Multicultural Affairs Minister has criticised One Nation's leader over her calls for Australia to become a "monocultural" society.  

Last week, Pauline Hanson declared multiculturalism was not working -- and today has suggested the Socceroos represent her "vision of a monocultural Australia" -- despite the team including players who hold different religious beliefs.

The deadly H5 bird flu virus has been detected for the first time in South Australia -- while another suspected case has been found on WA's South West coast.

SA Premier Peter Malinauskas says the virus was detected in a southern giant petrel at Knights Beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Authorities have been responding to the potential spread of the deadly strain of avian influenza after two cases were confirmed in migratory sea birds on WA's south coast.

The samples are being sent to the CSIRO to confirm the test results.
